The Governor of Osun, Ademola Adeleke has confirmed reports that operatives of the Department of State Security attached to him were withdrawn.
Confirming the withdrawal on Sunday, Olawale Rasheed the Governor’s spokesman said the matter was caused by what he described as minor disagreement between the operatives and those of the Nigerian Police Force.
NPO Reports gathered that both security agencies had withdrawn their men attached to the Governor shortly before his inauguration on November 27.
In a statement titled “Alleged Withdrawal of Security Personnel: The Matter is Between Police and DSS”
Olawale Rasheed said the Government wished to clarify that it is a minor disagreement between officers of the Department of State Service and the Police.

He said, “The matter has been reported to the headquarters of the two security agencies for resolution. The issue is being sorted out.”
Assuring members of the public over the safety of the Governor, the statement said that there is no cause for alarm.
“Your Governor is fully secured and governance is proceeding without let or hindrance,” he said
