Some gunmen have reportedly attacked the headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force in JImeta, Yola, Adamawa state.
The attacks in the early hours of Wednesday had reportedly forced many to flee. State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the attack, but said things were under control.
Nguroje said, “The attack was repelled, but the identities of those behind it was unknown.”
Another version of witness account said the attackers were military personnel on a revenge mission, following the alleged killing of a military officer by the police. Witnesses said they heard gunshots in the area sending many to scamper to safety.
