The Nigerian Police Force Abuja Headquarters has stepped in on a domestic violence case allegedly turned down by local police station.
The Force Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had expressed interest in the case after the Police was called out by a Nigerian X user over physical assault melted on her sister by her husband.
The X user, simply identified as Abiodun, had on Friday shared a video of the victim who sustained a deep cut on her head during the incident that on Friday morning.
Abiodun alleged that the nearby police station where the incident was reported failed to take any action on the case.
“An animal call an husband did this to my sister and the police in the vincity are not taking the matter serious it happen this morning I need justice so the cuprit could paid for this he has done to my sister for justice to prevail.” He wrote.
Reacting in a post on his X handle, Adejobi urged the X user to contact him directly.
The Police spokesperson described the assault as a barbaric act.
“Kindly get to me directly on my line 08037168147. This is barbaric, whatever the situation may be. It’s only a weak and abnormal man who can beat and injure a woman like this. It’s well.” Adejobi wrote.
