Suspended Kogi lawmaker, Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has told Nigerians to hold former governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, for any outbreak of violence ahead of her visit to her constituency in celebration of the Eid-Filtri.
Natasha is set to defile the directive of the state governor, Usman Ododo, who had yesterday banned processions, rallies, and convoy of long vehicles.
NPO Reported that the state government had announced the ban ahead of the planned visit by the suspended senator from Kogi Central.
The government in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, disclosed that some unidentified individuals have plotted to stage violent rallies in this guise of political and religious agitation.
The ban had sparked rumours of the postponement of Natasha’s visit which was debunked by her media team as they stressing that she remains steadfast in her commitment to engaging with her people.
Coupled with the dismissal of the claims, Natasha affirmed her visit to her constituency in a post on her Facebook page while noting that Akpabio and Yahaya Bello should be held accountable for any violent disruption in the course of her visit.
“My dear people of Kogi Central, I look forward to our PEACEFUL Sallah celebrations today,
“However, should we be met with or infiltrated by violence, Nigerians should hold Gov Òdodo, Yahaya Bello & SP Godswill Akpabio wholly responsible.” She wrote.
