The curtain is about to be drawn on the season five of Big Brother Naija, BBNaija, dubbed 'The Lockdown Edition' which showcased 20 housemates at the premiere on the Sunday night of July 19, 2020.
The MultiChoice-produced show started with Brighto, Eric, Erica, Ka3na, Kaisha, Kiddwaya, Lilo, Lucy, Ozo, Praise, Prince, Tochi, Tolanibaj, Trikytee, Wathoni, Laycon, Vee, Dorathy, Neo and Nengi.
Five of the 20 housemates — Vee, Nengi, Neo, Dorathy and Laycon — were able to scale through the evictions to Day 70 being the last day and are to contend for the grand prize tonight with their fan bases already rooting for them through votes and calling for others to do likewise.
As is typical of the show, the features have included Saturday Night parties, Tasks, Diary Sessions up to goodbyes.
The final hours have proven intense with some of the audience looking forward to updates before Biggie makes his final Evictions tonight.
While the audience are anxious to know the winner at the Live Show, the organisers have stated that each Housemate has a one in five chance of winning the grand prize tonight,
The audience who entered the 'Fave Lock-In' competition with the aim to be one million Naira richer are looking forward to the final line up of Evictions complete with the order in which they think Housemates will leave the House.
The predictions have been rolling in from the audience across all social media platforms but the winner and runners up are decided by votes from the fan base of each housemate.
The top five housemates in the last seven days have made the most of their evaporating time in Biggie’s House and celebrated their impending departure with wonderful wins, and loads of fond reminiscing.
According to the organisers, whittling the herd down to the final five hasn’t been an easy affair, and when the Votes had been tallied and all was said and done at the Live Show, it was time to say goodbye to Ozo and Trikytee.
The Housemates spent a lot of time over the past week remembering the Housemates that they entered Biggies House with. It was a happy walk down memory lane as they reminisced about all the magical moments that their former Housemates gave them, and poked fun at their personalities.
Being in the Top Five allowed a few more friendships to come to the fore. The time without distraction allowed Vee and Laycon to grow their mutual affinity, despite having a mild disagreement.
Also enjoying the friendship vibes was Nengi and Dorathy who seem to have buried the hatchet and started to regularly enjoy each other's company.
The Housemates made short work of the majority of the Tasks handed to them during their goodbye week. As a whole they were brilliant when Waw paid a second visit, they sipped from the chalice of success when Lipton Ice Tea tasked them to foster the peace, and they were nothing short of scrumptious when Amazon Farms tested their culinary skills.
Saturday Night parties have become such an institution that no weekend feels complete without them. For the final turn up, Biggie invited the Housemates that they had said goodbye to, to be part of the fun. The all-white party was a visual treat that had the viewers and Housemates enjoying the festivities.
As they prepare to say their final goodbye and begin the new challenge of being ex-Housemates, the Top Five can fondly look back at their final week and know that there is no way that any single moment could have turned out better than it did.
