Some soldiers on Friday arrested a leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Union, Oyewale Kazeem in Osogbo, the state capital. Oyewale, popularly called Asiri Eniba, was picked up at the Oju Irin area of the metropolis.
His arrest had caused confusion at the area with many passengers who were in the vicinity.
Opposition Peoples Democratic Party had petitioned the state police command over alleged attacks on its members in the state capital.
The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, had rained curses on hoodlums who allegedly attacked supporters of the candidate of the PDP, Ademola Adeleke while visiting his palace.
He had accused the NURTW leader of leading the hoodlums.
However, NPO Reports that the unionist was released later after some interrogations.
