Zenith Bank has apologised to its customers across the country over network downtime experienced due to fire outbreak at its branch on Ajose Adeogun street, Victoria Island, Lagos state, on Wednesday.
The Lagos State fire service had in a statement through its Director, Margaret Adeseye, said the agency and rescue service were at the scene of the incident to put out the fire which was reported around 7:25am.
“On arrival at the scene, which was reported at 07:25 hours, it was discovered that a room on the ground floor of a four-storey building housing the alternative power source inverter panels and batteries was on flame,” Adeseye had said in the statement
Confirming the fire outbreak in a statement signed by the management, Zenith bank said the fire broke out at its storage facility in Victoria Island.
According to the statement, the affected part is completely isolated from its head office complex which led to a temporary power outage.
“We hereby report that there was a fire incident this morning at our storage facility in Victoria Island, which is completely isolated from our Head Office Complex, and this led to temporary power outage.
“We appreciate the swift response of the Federal Fire Service, Lagos State Fire Service, and Eko Hotel Fire Service that led to the swift containment of the incident.”
The management noted that normalcy had returned adding that banking services were being restored.
“The inconveniences to our esteemed customers and other stakeholders arising from this incident are highly regretted,” it added
