Human Rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has called out the Nigerian Police Force and the General Overseer of Zion Ministry, Prophet Ebuka Obi, over the detention of social media activist, Chizorom Ofoegbu, popularly known as Ijele Nation.
Sowore had, in a post on his X handle on Saturday, alleged that Prophet Ebuka ordered the detention of Ijele Nation for accusing his ministry of performing fake miracles.
He held that his Ministry is not responsible for the fake testimony, stressing that the lady had lied against God not his ministry.
Meanwhile, Sowore in the post on his X handle alleged that the clergyman has ordered the unjust arrest of Ijele Nation who he held responsible for the circulation of the fake testimony video.
Sowore claimed Ijele Nation was initially denied bail before being granted the bail.
However, failure to the meet his bail condition led to being remanded in prison despite deteriorating health condition.
“The @PoliceNG were hired by this rogue prophet Ebuka Obi to hunt down @IjeleSpeaks2 for exposing this crooked ministry, a Federal Judge in Lagos, Justice Akintayo Aluko denied bail to @IjeleSpeaks2 when he was presented before him and when he later granted him bail he couldn’t meet the bail conditions for months, the prison service @CorrectionsNg was in Prophet Ebuka Obi’s pocket. They kept @IjeleSpeaks2 . And now this fraud is all exposed. The Nigeria justice system complicity has brought unspeakable horror to Nigerians. Even though everyone knew this fraudster was making up stories like the rest of them, @ijelespeaksremains permanently in prison, his kidney damaged. Sad sad country.” Sowore wrote.
As confirmed in a report by The Nation, Ijele Nation was issued an invitation letter in Mrach 2024 which he shared on his X handle.
“This office is investigating an alleged case of Criminal Intimidation, Threat to Life, Cyber Stalking, Cyber Bullying, Conduct Likely to Cause the Breach of Peace in which your name featured prominently.
“In view of the above, you are kindly invited for an interview with the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7 Police Headquarters, Abuja on 21st March, 2024 by 11:00 am prompt through Officer-In-Charge of Crack Squad.” the letter had read.
The invitation came days after Ijele called Evangelist Ebuka Obi a liar, labelling all his miracles as deceits.
“Dear @Lagos PoliceNG cc @BenHundeyin and our Ministry of Justice, have we abolished the 4(19) of our criminal code?
“For how long is this thief Ebuka Obi going to be allowed to fool people? Is he above the law? So any criminal can wake up one day and say whatever he likes and would be allowed to go free because ……? Pastor?
“And these are the people whose business premises serve as polling units. They’ll help rig elections for politicians who in turn would be patronising them throughout their tenures. You dare not remit some of the public funds to them, else they’ll tell their sheep that God has removed his glory from you, for that reason you must fail in the next election cycle.
“Arrangee Master Ebuka Obi. Your scam is coming to an end.” Ijele Nation had posted on his X handle.
Meanwhile, NPO earlier reported a video on X exposing an Anambra lady, Loveth Alu, who was spotted at a drink store few weeks after giving testimony of building mansion worth millions of Naira at Zion Ministry.
Despite a part of the video showing where Prophet Ebuka had prophesized about on Loveth receiving blessings, the clergyman denied knowing the lady.
