It was a rousing welcome for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in Yola, Adamawa State on Monday as he made a visit to his home state.
Atiku, in his assessment of the reception said Monday showed the direction the electorate was going.
“Today‘s outing was a confirmation of the direction the people have chosen. More importantly, it was an opportunity to welcome the thousands of defectors from various political parties to our great PDP. My heart is excited. I couldn’t have asked for more,” he said
His arrival at the Yola International Airport was preceded by that of his running mate and Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifieanyi Okowa.
Okowa had landed at exactly 11:00am on a bombardier private jet marked 5N-BXK.
Atiku’s flight marked T7-AAA landed 53 minutes later.

The movement from the airport to the heart of the town was hectic as many people trooped out to recieve the PDP candidate.
After his courtesy call on the palace of the Lamido of Adamawa, HRH Barkindo Mustapha, in Yola town, Atiku headed for the residence of the mother of the late OPEC Secretary-General, Sanusi Barkindo.
Barkindo died last month a week to his retirement from OPEC.
