Second runners up in the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential primaries and Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said he is not leaving the party for the All Progressive Congress.
Wike confirmed this in a statement signed by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri.
He said the video was extracted from his interview with Arise TV last year upon the defection of Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to APC.
Ebiri insisted the video was intended to mislead members of the public especially PDP members.
“Governor Wike has repeatedly maintained that he will never, under any circumstances, defect from the PDP, which has offered him the platform to excel in his political career.

“We urge the public to ignore the distorted video. Those behind it are desperately wicked and intend to mislead the public.
“Governor Wike remains a faithful, committed member of the PDP and will never leave it for the cancerous APC,” the statement read in part.
Wike contested the PDP presidential ticket and lost to Atiku Abubakar and is believed to be one of the Vice presidential nominees submitted to the screening committee set up by the party to chose the running mate for the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, in the next year’s election.
