The mother of the 12-year-old Chrisland International School,Opebi branch,Mrs Blessing Adeniran, has narrated how she met her daughter, Whitney Adeniran dead at the hospital where she was taking to.
Whitney, was reportedly slumped and died during her school’s inter-house sports activities at Agege Stadium.
Narrating the story in video posted on her social media handles on Sunday,Blessing said her daughter had already died before she got to the hospital.
In the video, the tearful mother said that she was told her daughter slumped and had been rushed to the hospital.
Blessing said she immediately rushed to the hospital but got there late because she couldn’t locate the place on time.
However, after she finally located where her daughter was, she said Whitney was already dead and her lips and tongue were black.
She said, “Last year, I was not able to go and my daughter was angry and I promised her that I would attend this year’s which I got there as early as possible even before the program started. I met the Principal, members of the PTA committee, parents and others. We greeted after which I sat down.
“When the match past started, from the first house to the last house,I couldn’t find my daughter. I actually was worried but I felt she’s in Queen’s entourage because I remembered she told me that she’s among the entourage of Queen and when those ones also matched,I couldn’t see and at this point I got infuriated.
At this point,Mrs Adeniran narrated that she picked up her phone and put a call through to their school bus driver whom she identified as Saheed.

According to her,the driver confirmed that her daughter was among those he brought to the Stadium for the activities.
“At this time, the match past was still going on and I didn’t want to interrupt. Parents are opposite where the children are kept and I thought maybe she went outside to buy something but my daughter ate breakfast before she left home. I made sure she ate and I gave her some monies. So, I thought she went to buy snacks outside and I got there but didn’t see her.
“I waited till the match past was over and I crossed to the other side.On my way there I met a man who told me that parents were not allowed into this place and I told him I know but only going there to check my daughter and he allowed me to enter.
I went in there and some students.
She explained further that while she was trying to go in,one of their school buses zoomed off and she was worried why would a driver be on a high speed in a premises where little children are having activities.
“When I got there,I met a boy from whom I asked that I’m looking for Whitney Adeniran and the boy responded that a girl just fainted here and she had been rushed to the hospital and I prayed to God to give her quick recovery. I never knew it was my daughter that had been rushed to the hospital.
“And I told the girl,my daughter’s name and he said the girl that fell, her name is Whitney but he didn’t know her surname because I heard them Whitney when they were pouring her water. At this point,I was confused and brought out my phone to show the boy my daughter’s picture and the boy confirmed that she’s the one. There was no emergency provision on ground in a place where you have over 500 students,”she said
She further stressed that, she got worried and went out to locate where she was rushed to.
She disclosed that On her way going out she met a staff of the school who actually confirmed to her that her daughter fell and she had been rushed to the hospital.
“I was told she had been rushed to Agege Central Hospital. I brought my phone to check it on Google but it wasn’t showing, what I saw was Agege Central Mosque. We drove out of the stadium to the gate, we asked the gatemen (for the hospital), they don’t know. As we were driving around we were asking people where we can find Central Hospital but they all said they only knew Agege General Hospital. When we couldn’t locate the place we decided to go to Agege Central Mosque.
“Fortunately, on our way to the mosque, we saw the school bus packed, so we knew we were at the place.I jumped down from the car when we saw the school bus and rushed in. I saw the staff that went with her (Whitney) and I asked her ‘Madam where is my child, what happened, why did she faint’ she (the staff) said ‘I don’t know, she’s in there’.
“I went in there and I saw my daughter’s corpse, Desola did not say anything to me. I went in there and I met my daughter on her deathbed, she was already dead. All these happened in less than 10minutes,” the woman explained with tears dropping continuously from her eyes
“She was drenched, soaked to the skin, water was dripping. I knelt down, I called on God, I shouted, I screamed. I felt her pulse, no pulse. I put my hand on her chest,it was silent. My daughter was silent. I asked the doctor what happened to my daughter and she said from the look of things she suffered from cardiac arrest.”
“My daughter was 12. She celebrated her 12th years birthday October 30th,2022.
How does a 12-year-old have a cardiac arrest? No pre-existing heart condition, no pre-existing medical condition. She was hale and hearty, she was not sick in any form. If she was sick, I would never allowed her to go. Why did my daughter died? Even if she will die from cardiac arrest why should one arrest kill a healthy teenager?
“Let me state this,by the time I got there, my daughter’s lips and tongue had already turned black. I shook her, held her by cloth, jacked her up but she was floppy. My daughter was already gone.
Blessing also revealed that her daughter was not taken to a hospital but an immunisation centre, adding that there was no proper first aid management.
She said, “My child was not taken to a hospital, she was taken to an immunisation centre but that is not even my pain. My pain is there was no proper first aid management, there was nothing that was done for her; she was brought to the hospital dead.
Because when her medical report came in, it said dead on arrival.
“When my husband came he went in straight to pick his child to another hospital,he came in and met her dead. He screamed, shouted, ‘Desola, daddy is here, stand up. What is happening to my child’. My husband knelt down crying begging the doctor ‘help me, this is my first child’. Ema je n gbo’mo sin, e Jo e s’anumi.
“No authority of Chrisland has been able to tell me what happened to my child. They were at my house yesterday and I knelt down, begged them to please explain what killed my daughter but all they kept telling me was it’s the work of Lord.
“How do I accept ‘kadara’ that my first fruit died out of carelessness?”
