A member of the House of Representatives James Faleke, has debunked reports that he had a confrontation with the Speaker Hon Femi Gbajabiamila.
Reports had it that Faleke had exchanged words with Gbajabiamila during a meeting of the Lagos Caucus of the National Assembly in Abuja.
There were reports that Faleke had accused the Speaker of sending misinformation to the public over the choice of who becomes the Speaker of the House in the 10th assembly.
It was said that Faleke said that against all denials, Gbajabiamila was the brain behind the choice of Tajudeen Abbas.
But in a statement released by Faleke on Tuesday, he said he only made clarifications at the meeting of the caucus denying any case of confrontation.
“I have read about my alleged confrontation with Mr Speaker, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila at the Lagos Caucus meeting which took place at his residence a few days ago.
“There was no such confrontation between us rather what I did was to clear the rumors of disagreement. I made it clear to my other colleagues that such insinuation was just a figment of imagination of the rumour mongers.
Please ignore such insinuations and the tissue of lies.”
