Former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Anthony Joshua, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friends, Sina Ghami and Lateef Ayodele, who died in the tragic lone accident along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
NPO Reported that the Nigerian-British boxer was alongside the duo, who were his fitness coach and personal trainer respectively, involved in the fatal crash which occurred on the 29th of December 2025.
While Joshua had survived with minor injuries, Ghami and Ayodele unfortunately died on the spot with the bodies repatriated to the United Kingdom where they were laid to rest.
In an appreciation post shared on his X handle on Thursday, Joshua expressed his gratitude to all well-wishers for their love and support for his late friends.
He described the duo as special beings sent to him by God.
The Joshua however admitted that their death is tough reality for him to accept and even tougher for their parents.
“Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers. I didn’t even realise how special they are.
“I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men.
“100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents. I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.” Joshua wrote.
NPO Reported that the boxer had since returned to the UK with speculations of an early retirement surrounding his boxing career.
