Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Wednesday gave further details into issues that went into his take over of the Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology
LAUTECH from the Gboyega Oyetola-led administration.
Makinde, while speaking in PortHarcourt, Rivers State, said he told the Governor of Osun that the relationship of Oyo and Osun was “a marriage of inconvenience.”
His statement, “When our own administration came in Oyo State, we had the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology which was jointly owned by Osun and Oyo State.
“It wasn’t working. It was marriage of inconvenience.
“Every time, there were issues about who was supposed to pay what and all of that.
“What we did was that we approached our brother from Osun State and I told him this thing is not working. If it is worth it, take it but let me see how you will have Osun State University on the soil of Oyo State.
“They gave the University back to us as a sole owner and we also started a multi-campus system,” he narrated
