Suspected Kidnapper and ritualist, Onyeka Obieze, has claimed being framed by some of members of his community over kingship tussle.
NPO Reported that Obieze was arrested in foiled attempt to flee through the Badagary-Seme border in Lagos.
The Enugu-born suspect was declared wanted after the bodies of kidnapped victims, including a heavily pregnant woman, were found buried in his compound in Unojo, Umumba Ndi-Agu, Ezeagu Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking during interrogation by the NIS officials, Obieze claimed he is a businessman who sells fairly used clothes (Okirika) in Benin Republic.
While denying being a native doctor, the suspect claimed he was framed by his kinsmen over his interest in the village kingship title.
He held that the discovered bodies were planted in his uncompleted apartment by an unidentified man who works for one of his community leader identified as President General.
“The issue concerning me is a political issue. Fabrication against me because I will be next of King. But some people in my village don’t want me to be next of King.
“So, they were planting evil against me front and back so that I can fall.
“People of my village came to demolish my house. They planted someone, a young guy.
“There is a way I’ve been building a new house and that new house I’m building is far away from my house where I stay. So, before I will go there, it is difficult. I don’t go there anyhow.
“Because of this kingship issue, they set me up with someone that is working for them. They planted the dead person in my well, soak afield.
“They planted it there and I’ve already answered this matter.” He said.
However, the immigration service has transferred his case to the Lagos State Police Command.
According to reports, the suspects will further be transferred to the Enugu State Police Command for prosecution.
