Nigerian Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, have been caught in another web of off-field controversy following alleged assault and threat on journalist at Istanbul, Turkiye.
The incident reportedly occurred outside an entertainment venue at Istanbul.
Osimhen had reacted angrily over attempts to be photographed after being spotted by journalists.
The Galatasary player on loan from Napoli allegedly vented his anger on photojournalist identified as Tolga Bozduman.
The photojournalist who is attached to a Turkish media outlet, Posta, recounted how Osimhen had approached him after lashing out at the journalists taking his photographs.
He claimed that the Nigerian striker punched him before demanding for his photographs to be deleted.
Osimhen allegedly offered to pay the Bozduman to take off the pcitures which the journalist rejected, leading to the threat.
“Three colleagues and I were at the door capturing images of Osimhen.
“When the camera flashes went off, he snapped. He charged at me, tried to grab my camera, and punched me in the head. My right side still hurts.”
“He then started swearing and offered to pay us to delete the footage. When we refused, he threatened, ‘I will destroy you.’”Bozduman recounted.
The shocking behaviour has ever since drawn criticism over Osimhen’s attitude as a star footballer.
