The new All Progressives Congress’ (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has pledged to unite, build, and expand the party as he takes over the party’s mantle of leadership.
Nentawe made the pledge during his inaugural speech at the ongoing APC’s National Electoral Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday in Abuja.
NPO earlier Reported the NEC’s formal unveiling of Nentawe as the APC new National Chairman, replacing former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned last month.
Addressing the party leaders and members, the 2023 Plateau state governorship candidate firstly expressed his gratitude to God and to the leadership of the party.
While accepting the new responsibility, Nentawe pledged to work with leaders and every member of the APC in unifying, building, and expanding the ruling party.
He called for the support of the party members in fulfilling the dream that Nigerians have in APC.
“Let me express my profound gratitude to God and the leadership of the party from the President to the governors and the National Assembly members and all members of NEC for reposing this big burden and trust also in me to lead the party at this junction.
“Let me thank you also for picking me among millions of members of this party and the party will see me good enough and responsible enough to take this party to the next level.
“I do not take this mandate for granted. I want to accept it with gratitude and with my full heart and full mind to work together with you to build the party, knowing that all of us here are the mechanics of the party and the party is our vehicle. We will fix it and move it our destination of choice.
“I pledge without hesitation that I will work with everybody in the party. I will unite the party. I will build the party. I will expand the party with you as the focus and the building block and the support that I will require to drive the party so that we can fulfil the dream of Nigerians who have reposed their hope in the Renewed Hope agenda.
“Lastly, I will trust and look up to the leadership of the party, members of the party, and all of you seated here for us to fulfil the dream that Nigeria has in the APC.” Nentawe said.
