Popular Nigerian Activist, Rinu Oduala, has slammed the Nigerian Police Force over the remark of its spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on activism.
Adejobi had, in a post on his X handle on Friday, stated that activism is not a profession.
“Activism is not a profession….. beware of any activist who doesn’t have a profession.” The Police spokesperson had written.
Reacting in a post on her X handle on Saturday, Rinu vowed to rather remain an activist than taking up a police job which she labelled thief and murderer.
“I’d rather be an activist than be a thief and murderer in police uniform.” She wrote.
Rinu’s activism hit the limelight during the 2020 #EndSARS protest.
She was among the frontiers of the protest against police brutality and had her bank account blocked alongside others over alleged sponsoring of civil unrest through the protest.
