Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger remanded over her unruly behaviour, has broken silence from her release from Kirikiri prison in Lagos.
NPO earlier Reported the discharge of Emmanson following the Ikeja Magistrate court’s withdrawal of the five-count charged against her for assaulting officials of the Nigerian local airline.
Recall that the unruly passenger had on Monday come under the limelight after video of her physical assault against Ibom Air hostess at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
Her conduct further triggered controversies and mixed reactions following the release of the video where she was stripped naked while being dragged out of the plane.
However, the intervention of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, effected her release on Wednesday as the minister ordered the withdrawal of the case against her after review of the incident.
Keyamo had also directed the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to lift the lifetime ban imposed on her over her unruly conduct.
Emmanson release would be confirmed in a post shared on by her friends.
She finally spoke for the first time since the incident in a post on her Instagram handle.
While expressing her gratitude to those who supported her, the Ibom Air passenger disclosed that she is still in pain as a result of how she was manhandled by the security operatives at the airport.
She vowed to narrate her side of the story after she fully recovers.
“Thank you so much for all the prayers, love, and support. I’ve been released from the prison, but I’m still in pain due to how I was treated.
“I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event.
“Thank you so much my lovely friends and supporters. I really appreciate y’all from the bottom of my heart.” Emmanson wrote.
