Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has maintained his innocence following his release on bail in the United Kingdom over sexual offence allegations.
Poco Lee made the remarks during a video conversation with social commentator, VeryDarkMan, who posted excerpts of their discussion on Instagram on Sunday.
According to the entertainer, his major concern throughout the period was the effect of his situation on his associates and ongoing business activities, rather than the allegations he was facing.
He said he was particularly worried about how his absence would affect his associates, including Rahman Jago, and expressed appreciation to those who stood by him during the difficult period.
Poco Lee said, “I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people. Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone.
“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins. But since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure.”
He also acknowledged the support he received from Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, and some of his associates while dealing with the situation.
VeryDarkMan, who expressed solidarity with Poco Lee during the conversation, also questioned some of the reports surrounding the entertainer’s case in the UK.
He specifically commended Burna Boy and Jago for standing by the dancer amid the controversy.
Poco Lee is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, including attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration, following his trip to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert held at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.
Poco Lee has denied the allegations against him. However, the charges remain before the court and have not been determined.
