The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has declared interest in the affairs of the Oyo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike made this known during his address at the 105th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held by the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led faction of the party on Monday night.
While expressing confidence in the faction’s National Working Committee (NWC) ahead of its planned convention, the FCT Minister declared his keen interest in all activities of the Oyo chapter of the party as part of efforts towards ensuring its survival and success.
“We have a competent legal adviser. We have a competent organising secretary who are experienced in this job.
“When we combine our experiences, we will know what will happen.
“On this short note that everybody is here, let’s go back to our states, particularly in Oyo. I’m interested. Mr. Chairman, let me declare my interest. I’m interested in Oyo. Nothinh more.” He said.
While appreciating the calls for peace by the Board of Trustees (BoT) and the National Working Committee (NWC), Wike urged party leaders and members to remain vigilant, noting the ongoing attempts to destabilise PDP.
He cautioned that adversaries would not relent until the party was finished but expressed confidence that such efforts would fail.
