Nigerian blogger and activist, Adetoun Onajobi, popularly known as JustAdetoun, has broken silence over the Ogun State Police Command’s declaration of her wanted for alleged cyberbullying of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun.
NPO Reported that the Ogun Police Command had earlier this week declared Adetoun wanted after allegedly rejecting of the command’s invitation.
The command, in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, accused connived with a doctor to fabricate a medical report in a bid to avoid the summon.
Reacting in a video posted on her Instagram handle, Adetoun expressed her displeasure with the command’s action what she labelled wrong narrative.
She clarified that she not missing and not at large as portrayed by the command.
“For the past few weeks, I have seen a lot of wrong narratives by the Ogun State Police. Ogun State Police, first of all let me commend you for this pressured and effective social media attendance that you have created for yourself and around me.
“I didn’t know that you people have so much allocation to waste public funds searching for an innocent citizen who well-documented and responded to your wrong presentation and approach.
“Now, I am not missing. I am not at large, and I don’t know where this narrative is coming from, but I understand where the narrative is coming from.” She said.
Adetoun recounted how she was sent a letter inviting her over alleged cybercrime and cyberstalking of the state governor.
As against claim of forging her medical report, the activist claimed being ill as at the time she was invited.
“He who alleges must prove. Unfortunately, I wasn’t well prior to that time. I needed to be mentally okay, physically and morally stable for me to be able to respond to such allegation.
“I told you I wasn’t feeling well that I wasn’t coming. I gave you a date. We responded to your letter despite the wrong approach and my lawyer told you when we will come.
“You acknowledged the receipt from the lawyer and we gave you the 27th of January because I have preoccupied appointment.
“Now, what is pushing you people? Who is pressurising you? You come to the media, and you declared me wanted. Wanted for what?
“You said I am cyberstalking a gover, somebody with public funds, somebody that has the lives of every citizen of Ogun state in his hands. And all we see is him going from one party to the other.
“You now started to push the police, get her for me by force.” She said.
