Nigerian human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has lamented over the incessant kidnap of road travelers as bandits attacked and abducted a yet-to-be confirmed number of travelers ay his Kabba hometown Kogi State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday evening along the Kabba road.
As captured in a video shared on X, the bandits had waylaid a black commercial Toyota Hiace bus along the road.
The bus which was parked by the roadside with all it doors opened had all its passengers abducted while their luggage remained in the bus.
Reacting to the video on his X handle, Adeyanju confirmed that the incident happened in his village.
“This is my village. I am tired!” The human rights lawyer wrote.
The report of the attack and abduction came barely hours after the alleged bandits’ invasion of Zango, Crusher, and Felele communities in Kogi state.
However, the state Police Command debunked the invasion in a statement issued on its official X handle.
