The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, has on Monday paid a working visit to the Commission’s Jos North Local Government Area Office in Plateau State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on the commission’s official X handle.
According to the statement, Amupitan was accompanied by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for the state, Mohammed Sadiq.

The Chairman was, upon arrival, received by Sadiq alongside the Electoral Officer (EO) for Jos North, who jointly provided him with a comprehensive briefing on the current operational activities within the LGA office.
The visit, according to INEC, formed part of the Chairman’s routine engagement with field offices to assess readiness levels, strengthen oversight.
It was also aimed at ensuring that INEC’s processes and facilities at the grassroots remain efficient, secure, and responsive to electoral needs.
Amupitan, in his address, commended the staff for their dedication and encouraged them to maintain professionalism and diligence in carrying out the Commission’s mandate.
