Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has charged President Bola Tinubu to declare a state on emergency on insecurity in the country.
Atiku gave the charge while reacting to the attack and abduction of pupils and staff of St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, by gunmen on Friday.
NPO Reported that the armed men had in the early hours of Friday stormed the school and abducted an undisclosed number of pupils and staff in an operation which lasted from 1:00am to 3:00am.
Reacting to the development in a post on his X handle, Atiku expressed his sadness over the attack and abduction of the pupils.
The ex-Vice President charged the Tinubu-led administration to declare a state of emergency to confront the menace of insecurity ravaging the country.
