Insecurity: Lagos Police Increases Special Watches Over Strategic Locations
The Lagos State police command has increased its strategic watch over the metropolis reviewing how it positions officers.
Pedestrian bridges, bus stops, traffic pin-downs have been ordered to be manned by armed men to forestall attacks at such places.
The command, which stated this on Wednesday said its men, as early as 4:18am, had positioned police riders at the Alausa Pedestrian bridge for the safe use of those who use the facility when going to work places very early.
The command said on Wednesday, “Our Riders are out very early on routine patrol of the city in keeping with the directive of our Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.

“The riders monitored Alausa pedestrian bridge and bus stop because of the road construction that has slowed down traffic there from 4: 18 a.m. for sometime to ensure that early risers using the facilities are safe before continuing their patrol.”
The command said it has stationed officers at many of such places across the state with a view to increasing the confidence of residents in the ability of the police to save them.
