Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has warned the United States against intervening militarily in its ongoing conflict with Israel.
NPO Reported that middle east nation had over the week engaged Israel in fierce exchange of missiles with several infrastructures destroyed and scores of causalities reported from of both parties.
Speculations have however grown on possible military intervention by the United States, with the US President Donald Trump demanding an unconditional surrender by Khamenei.
According to the BBC, Trump had on Tuesday threatened the Iranian Supreme Leader, stating that the US knew where he was.
“He is an easy target, but is safe there,” Trump wrote.
“We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.” He added
Another post from Trump would then read: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
Reacting to Trump in a post on his X handle on Wednesday, Khamenei labelled Trump’s demand as an absurd rhetoric.
He maintained that the nation is not afraid of his threat.
“The US President threatens us. With his absurd rhetoric, he demands that the Iranian people surrender to him.
“They should make threats against those who are afraid of being threatened. The Iranian nation isn’t frightened by such threats.” Khamenei wrote.
The Iranian Supreme leader would then warned Trump against military intervention in a separate post.
He held that the US would suffer irreparable harm if it intervened in the conflict militarily.
“The harm the US will suffer will definitely be irreparable if they enter this conflict militarily.” Khamenei added.
