The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has announced the cancellation of all official engagements scheduled for Tuesday following the news of the death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi.
Ifeanyi was reportedly drowned on Monday while his parents were away from the house located at Banana Island, Lagos.
Celebrities and other Nigerians across the country and world have continued to condole with the singer, who is planning to tie the knot with Chioma in 2023.
Reacting, Kalu in a post on his official Facebook page, expressed shock, saying he was deeply saddened.
He wrote, “Dear David/Chioma, I am sober, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your son, Ifeanyi. I have canceled my official engagements today to mourn him quietly.
“Ifeanyi will be missed by everyone. May the Creator accept our prayers on his behalf”.
Similarly,President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has said only God can comfort popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his girlfriend, Chioma over the death of their dear Son.
She described the loss of Ifeanyi as a painful experience.

“Dear @davido and Chioma, Losing a child is the most painful experience in life. Only God can beam his comforting light at the pains you & your families are enduring at this difficult time,”she tweeted
“I can’t say I understand it all. But my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.”
However, Davido and Chioma are yet to release any official statement regarding their son’s death.
