The Nigerian Television Authority’s (NTA) Abuja Head Office was on Wednesday thrown into wild jubilation as staff of the national broadcasting station welcomed back their reinstated Director-General, Salihu Dembos.
NPO Reported that President Bola Tinubu had yesterday, in a reversal his recent appointments, recalled Dembos as the broadcast station’s Director General.
The President had initially made fresh appointments which saw a changing in the director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises roles.
However, Tinubu directed the recall of Dembos as the NTA DG.
In the wake of the development, the recalled NTA DG returned to the office on Wednesday where he received a rousing welcome from staff of the station.
As captured in videos made available to NPO Reports, Dembos arrival was met with cheers and chants from the excited NTA staff.
They could be heard chanting “Baba Oyoyo” with some members of staff raising his portrait in the air in expression of their excitement.
His return will see him complete his three-year tenure.
In the same vein, Tinubu also directed the recall of Mr Ayo Adewuyi, the Executive Director of News, to complete his three-year tenure, which ends in 2027.
