In the wake of the ongoing feud between Nigerian music artists Peter and Paul Okoye ( popularly known as P-Square), Jude Okoye, has, in a recent video interview, revealed the legal agreement binding the music duo, including his contribution to the brand.
Jude, the elder brother of the estranged partners, disclosed the content of the Memorandum of Understanding binding P-Square as a brand while narrating his ordeal during a financial probe by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) involving him and the brand.
As heard in the viral video, Jude Okoye said he is not a bystander in the P-Square situation as he played crucial role in the emergence of the brand.
“…the MoU clearly stated that P-Square comprises of three entities; Peter, Paul, Jude. Every royalties of the P-Square goes three ways; to Peter, Paul, Jude.
“Nobody has the right to take every P-Square songs, catalogs, video, likeness, image outside the benefit of P-Square.
“So in a nutshell, I was able to establish that I am not a bystander that I was P-Square, that I played my role in the P-Square situation.” Jude revealed.
He however disclosed that the brand long ended in 2017 following outcries from fans for his withdrawal from the brand despite his commitment to the development of the brand.
“P-Square ended in 2017. I have devoted my life in P-Square even before I entered University.
“There is nothing else I do aside P-Square. I put my life on hold just to make sure that P-Square succeeds. And all of a sudden, I am wanted out of P-Square. I didn’t have a problem. I saw what you fans are saying.
“I understand that the fans are more interested in what their favourite wants and not what the truth is or what is the right thing to do and I decided by 2016 that no problem since this what they want.” Jude added.
