The body of former Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has arrived at his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, for his burial ceremony.
NPO earlier Reported the arrival of the body at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport where it was received by President Bola Tinubu before being set in an ambulance for an hour and 15 minutes trip to Daura.
As captured in a post shared on X, the remains of the late former President arrived at a heavily crowded prayer ground for a brief prayer session before being finally laid to rest at his residence.
The late Buhari’s former spokesperson, Garba Sheu, had earlier confirmed that he will be buried at his residence as agreed upon by the state government.
Meanwhile, the state burial of Buhari had attracted notable Nigerian dignitaries and foreign delegates as they awaited the arrival of the late former President’s body in Daura town.
Arriving earlier at the venue were Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun state counterpart, Dapo Abiodun as well as Nigerian businessman, Aliko Dangote.
Also present at the funeral of Buhari was his Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and other members of the late ex-President’s administration.
