The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and its National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, over alleged anti-party activities.
Wike and Anyanwu’s expulsion was announced at the ongoing National Convention of the party in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Also expelled alongside the duo was former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.
Their expulsion was announced by the PDP National Executive Council (NEC) at the Lekan Salami stadium.
They were expelled alongside nine others.
The other members expelled alongside Wike, Anyanwu, and Fayose include Umar Bature, Muhammed Abdulrahman, Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Mao Ohuabunwa, Austine Nwachukwu, Abraham Amah, George Turner, and Chief Dan Orbih.
In the motion moved to effect the expulsion, the party said activities of the suspended members constituted a serious breach of the party’s constitution.

WHEREAS by Articles 33(2) (1), (2) (i) (n) & (r) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Constitution 2017 (as amended), the National Convention of the Party shall have supremacy in all matters pertaining to the Party and all officers and organs of the Party including matters of discipline of officers and members;
WHEREAS it is important to underscore the fundamental principles that a political party is a voluntary organization and members are expected to join it out of their volition as allowed by Section 40 of the Constitution of the FRN 1999 (as amended) and are to be bound by its fundamental principles and aspirations as expressed in its Constitution;
WHEREAS the persons mentioned above have committed various breaches of the Party’s Constitution including supporting and canvassing votes for opposition.
