President Bola Tinubu has, on Tuesday, approved the creation of the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC).
The President signed the NCDC establishment bill as proposed by the National Assembly into law in Abuja.
This was announced by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during the the Upper Chamber’s plenary session today.
Akpabio congratulated the region over the President’s approval of the NCDC establishment which he claimed will bring development to the region.
“Let me also inform my colleagues that Mr. President has also assented the North-Central Development Commission establishment bill 2024 in order to bring development to the grassroot.
“For this, we congratulate the good people of the North-Central region of Nigeria. We wish them more development, particularly peace, as we forge ahead in the task of nation building.” Akpabio said.
The newly established commission will join the existing regional development commissions which include the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), North East Development Commission (NEDC), South East Development Commission (SEDC), South West Development Commission (SWDC), and the North West Development Commission (NWDC).
