South African Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, has fired back President Cyril Ramaphosa and his United States President, Donald Trump, after becoming the centre of attraction at the South Africa– US meeting at the Oval Office on Thursday night.
NPO Reported that Trump had at the meeting raised the issue of farm murders and land expropriation, accusing Ramaphosa of inciting white genocide.
Defending his allegation, the US President asked for the lights to be turned off and pointing towards a screen on the right of where President Ramaphosa was sitting.
A collage of video clips from various addresses by Malema would appear on the screen with the freedom fighter singing “Kill the boer, the farmer.”
According to report, Ramaphosa looked visibly uncomfortable when the clips were played, asking his Minister of Agriculture John Steenhuisen to help respond to an answer about farm killings.
Malema became the point of discourse as billionaire businessman, Johan Rupert, also shared his sentiments on Malema’s past utterances, “I have been a target of this man for ten years.”
Reacting to the development in a post on X hande, defiant Malema dared the South African President and Trump whom he labelled as his enemies to kill him as he maintained his stance.
“You will never put a good man down; I will never be defined by my enemies but by my loyalty to the cries of our people.
“You will never kill the idea whose time has come; kill me now cowards.” He wrote.
Prior to the post, Malema responded on X, stressing that the movement will not be deterred from its political principles on land expropriation without compensation for political expediency.
“A group of older men meet in Washington to gossip about me. No significant amount of intelligence evidence has been produced about white genocide.
“We will not agree to compromise our political principles on land expropriation without compensation for political expediency.” He wrote.
