The Plateau State Government has relaxed the 48-hour curfew earlier imposed on Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
NPO Reported that the state government had declared the curfew on the LGA following the gunmen attack on Angwan Rukuba community which left over 30 people dead on Sunday.
With the curfew duration elapsing on Tuesday night, Mrs Joyce Ramnap, the Commissioner for Information and Communications of the state, announced the lifting of the curfew in a statement issued in Jos.
Ramnap said the curfew had been relaxed with effect from April 1, adding that residents could go about their normal businesses between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
“Residents are hereby free to carry out their lawful activities, within the stipulated hours.
“Government urges citizens to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding as security agencies continue to monitor the situation to ensure sustained peace and order,” Ramnap said.
The commissioner thanked members of the public for their cooperation and support during the trying time.
She reiterated the government’s commitment to the protection of lives and property in all parts of the state.
