As NCAA Petitions Force over Singer’s Unruly Behaviour

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered investigation into the clash between Nigerian Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, and Nigerian local airline, ValueJet.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Nigerian Police Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
According to the statement, the IGP had directed the Police Commissioner of the Airport Command to commence immediate investigation into the case following the Force’s receival of petition filed against the Fuji musician by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The NCAA had in the petition accused K1 De Ultimate of unruly conduct and obstruction of safe operation of an aircraft.
This was respect to the shocking incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where Wasiu Ayinde had attempted to stop a Lagos-bound ValueJet aircraft from flying.
The singer had caused drama at the terminal after being denied access into the aircraft over alleged possession of alcohol.
His action had made the aircraft pilots to breach safety protocol as their forceful taxi left airport officials scampering for safety with the singer ducking being hit by the wing of the plane.
While the NCAA had suspended the license of the pilots involved with a six-months no-fly suspension slammed on the singer, it also petitioned the the Police Force for probe into the incident.
Adejobi disclosed the IGP’s call for immediate investigation into the case while assuring the public of the Force’s commitment to upholding safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The statement read in part; “The Nigeria Police Force has received an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over an alleged incident involving Mr. Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (popularly known as KWAM 1).
“He is accused of engaging in unruly conduct that allegedly obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, in violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023 following a reported incident on 5 August 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
“In response, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to immediately commence a thorough investigation into the matter, to unravel the circumstances which led to the ugly incident and ensure justice is served accordingly.
“The Force hereby assures the public of its commitment to upholding safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector, while assuring stakeholders in the sector of improved collaboration towards aviation security and strict compliance with aviation laws.”
