The Ebonyi Labour Party (LP) Gubernatorial Candidate, Mr Edward Nkwegu says, the party has credibility to resolve the nation’s economic difficulties if elected in the forthcoming General Elections.
Nkwegu made the remarks on Friday, during the party’s zonal rally and enlightenment campaign at Ezza-North Local Goverment Area of the state.
He said his administration would promote good governance, transparency, accountability if he emerged as Governor of Ebonyi.
“My administration will bring transformation to public sector, including education and agriculture.
“Where previous administration saw problems, we see solution. I will create 13, 000 micro small businesses, indirect employment for 250,000 and improve mechanised agriculture.
“Go to your polling unit with your permanent vote cards and vote for all the party’s candidates from top to bottom.
“Remember, Labour party mission is to pull down poverty,” Nkwegu said.
Also speaking, his running mate, Mr Igwe Nwabueze, described Nkwegu as visionary leader who would change plights of public and civil service if elected.
Nwabueze, while commending the party’s supporters, urged them to vote for better Ebonyi.
“Nkwegu administration, when elected as a governor, will wipe tears of pensioners by paying their pension and gratuities when due,” Nwabueze said.
Mr Godwin Jioke, Chairman of the party, assured that LP was only party that would rescue the country, adding that the candidates were people with ideology and vision for better country.
Jioke urged the people to vote for all the LP candidates for the state to witness reform in all sectors by the team.
Mr Lawrence Nwauruku, LP Senatorial Candidate, promised massive represemtation of his constituency when elected.
Mr Chinedu Ugota, Labour Party candidate for House of Representatives Ezza-North /Ishielu Federal Constituency, promised 2,000 jobs for his constituency, to make youths become self-reliant, resourceful and industrious.
Ugota, former official of Anambra State Transportation Sector during the former governor and LP Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi’s administration in Anambra, said that job creation would be his focus, if elected.
“I will invest the constituency fund and use it to get job for Ezza-North and Ishielu youths,” Ugota said.
Mrs Jacinta Nwite, Women Leader, South-East, expressed satisfaction with solidarity supports by people of the area to the party.
Nwite advised the public on proper way to cast their votes during the General Elections, urging for massive votes for the party’s candidates.
