A Lagos-based lady, Oluwadamilola Olanrewaju, has disclosed how operatives of the National Drug Law Enfocement Agency (NDLEA) allegedly killed a fruit seller during a raid on suspected drug dealers in Makoko area of the state.
Olanrewaju, in a post shared on her X handle @Biggdammy on Saturday, recounted how the NDLEA operatives had stormed the community yesterday to arrest the suspected drug dealers.
While their arrival had sent traders and residents scampering for safety with the targeted drug dealers also absconding, the fruit seller identified as Mohammed reportedly stayed put to attend to his wares.
Mohammed was, according to Olarenwaju, spotted by the NDLEA operatives on their way back.
The fruit seller’s refusal to run tend to have upset the officials who allegedly shot him in the head.
“NDLEA came to Makoko yesterday evening trying to arrest some drug dealers.
They got to a street before mine in rage, made everyone run helter-skelter with some leaving their wares behind.
“They finally targeted someone or two, but they ran away with help from some big boys Tout in the area who didn’t want them to arrest anyone. So they fought them while the targeted boys ran away.
“While they were leaving, they saw an Aboki caring for his goods who stubbornly refused to run and was the only one in the empty street.
“They shot the Aboki fruit seller (he was one of my favourite fruit seller) on his forehead and he died instantly. His name was Muhammed.
“They shot him just because he didn’t run like the others. It was an hour to Iftar.” The X user wrote.
She would in a subsequent post dislcose that the suspect arrested during the raid has been released.
“They actually arrested the substance dealer yesterday but have been released this morning. He probably tipped them to secure his release.
“But Muhammad is gone just like that.” Olarenwaju wrote.
However, no official statement has been issued by thr NDLEA to confirm the reported raid by its officials as well as the alleged murder of the fruit seller.
