The Lagos State Government has announced the launch of the Ilera Eko Standard Jaara Health Insurance Scheme in the state.
This was disclosed by the State’s governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, via an X post on Tuesday.
According to Sanwo-Olu, this is in line with the state’s commitment to provide quality, affordable, and efficient healthcare services to all residents.
He therefore affirmed that the initiative marks a significant milestone in the journey towards universal health coverage.
The introduction of Ilera Eko Virtual Booths in five locations across the State will ensure accessible healthcare for those in the informal sector, including market men and women, artisans, and grassroots stakeholders.
“Today, I was also decorated as the Grand Ambassador of Universal Health Coverage in Lagos, and my deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, as the Ambassador for Ilera Eko.
“These titles reflect our shared commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and affordability in our State.”
Additionally, he urged all residents to take advantage of th new initiatives by enrolling in ILERA EKO to reduce out-of-pocket expenses and ensure access to quality healthcare.
“Our goal is to enhance health outcomes and make healthcare more inclusive for all.
“Thank you all for your support, as we continue working together towards a healthier future for Lagos.”
