Former Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area (LCDA) chairmanship aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oluwaseun Akapo, has emerged as the Campaign Director-General for the party’s candidate, Hon. Bola Oladunjoye, in preparation for the 2025 Lagos Local Government election.
Akapo was last week appointed as Oladunjoye’s campaign DG ahead of the July 12 LG poll.
Recall that the APC campaign DG had stepped down his aspiration for the emergence of Oladunjoye as the party’s flag bearer.
Reacting to the appointment, Akapo expressed his readiness to work for Oladunjoye who he described as the right man for the job.
While lauding the APC candidate’s electoral experience, the campaign DG highlighted his roles for the campaign which include stakeholders’ engagement and sensitisation of voters amongst others.
“My role is to lead the strategy; ensure stakeholders engagement; initiate election education, and general planning of the whole election itself.
“I will be working with different committees of experts in the local council development area. Hon. Bola Oladunjoye, I can tell you for a fact that he is the right man for the job.
“He is somebody with electoral experience, a businessman and gentleman. Someone who has been a great supporter of the the party at the national, state, and Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA.
“Hon. Bola Oladunjoye is a candidate that is loved by all. We have all come together to support him. He deserves our support.
“We started our rally on Saturday 21st June. My appointment was made on the 20th of June. We have four more wards to cover before we start our general rally on July 5th and 9th, respectively in Ikoyi-Obalende.” He said.
Akapo further reiterated the campaign objective, which is to educate the voters and enlighten them on why Oladunjoye is the best candidate for the role.
He urged the voters to come out en masse on the election day and support the APC candidate.
“The message is to educate our voters, enlighten them and tell them why Hon. Bola Oladunjoye is the best candidate for the role. We are going everywhere to let them know that July 12 is the day of the election and we will appreciate everybody to come out en masse and vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).” He said.
Also part of the Akapo-led team is Hon. Fuad Atanda Lawal who was appointed as the chairman of the campaign organisation, while Hon. Akorede Bernard serves as co-chairman of the campaign organisation
The campaign team also consist of other committees on strategy, planning, mobilisation; logistics and security; election management and accreditation; media and publicity; budget and finance; and andadvisory committee which comprised of serving officials in Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA.
