Lagos State Police Commissioner, Adegoke Mustapha Fayoade, has emerged as the new Assistant Inpsector General of Police.
This was disclosed in a post on X Lagos PPRO, Benjamin Hundeyin, yesterday.
Fayoade was decorated as the new AIG by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
The new AIG, according to Hundeyin, will assume duty at the Force’s Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.
Commiserating with the AIG, Hundeyin granted well wishes to Fayoade as he assumes his new position.
“Congratulations, sir on your elevation to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Adegoke Mustapha Fayoade, mni.
“We will sure miss your fatherly disposition and do wish you the very best, sir as you assume duty as AIG Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.” Hundeyin wrote.
Fayoade became Lagos Police Commissioner on the 12th of December, 2023 following his appointment by the IGP.
He was once a divisional police officer in charge of the Ilupeju and Ajao Estates divisions at some point in his career.
He was also Area Commander, Sango Area Command, Ogun State, and Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of administration at Zone 2 Command headquarters, Onikan.
The officer also headed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba.
After his promotion, Fayoade was posted to head the NPF armament department before he was enlisted to study for one year at the prestigious NIPSS.
He holds a B.A (Edu) Hons in History and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Lagos State University (LASU) and University Of Lagos (UNILAG), respectively.
