Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have nabbed eight suspected cultists and armed robbers during a targeted raid in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi.
According to the statement, the operatives attached to the Bullock Tactical Team had on Wednesday stormed a criminal hideout in the area.
The suspects were apprehended at the hideout where they were allegedly planning nefarious activities.
Those arrested include Fadiya Ayodele (27), Lawal Rasheed (28), Akerele Demilare (27), Alimi Victor (23), and Okiki Alufoge (25).
Others include Nurudeen Dolapo (25), Agboola Samuel (25), and Ayolade Victor (25).
Items recovered at the scene include: a Nigerian Military camouflage uniform a battle axe, an assault dagger, several charms, and counterfeit $100 bills totaling $3,000.

During preliminary interrogation, Fadiya Ayodele confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the area.
He further revealed that he had previously handed over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently at large.
The police disclosed that efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspect and recover the firearm.
Reacting to the development, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to making Lagos State safe and secure for all residents.
