Operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce on Thursday dismantled a popular auto spare parts market located at the First Gate, along the popular Lateef Jakande Road (formerly called Agidingbi Road) in the Ogba-Ikeja axis area of the state.
NPO Reports correspondent who visited the market observed that most ofthe spare parts dealers were caught unaware as they were seen evacuating their wares hurriedly from the market.

The scenario had caused heavy traffic gridlock along the Lateef Jakande Road as the traders packed their wares under the watchful eyes of the Taskforce officials along the busy road.
While some immediately left the market, others were spotted opposite the market with their wares lying around on account of the unexpected evacuation.
However, Abdulrahman Shuaibu, one of the spare parts dealers who spoke to our correspondent, admitted that they were long given evacuation notice, but were not informed of the Taskforce’s coming today to force them out of the market.
“Nobody planned for it. It is just sudden because they gave us assurance that if at all it is going to happen, not this year.” Shuaibu said.
