Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced the extension of the Red Line train service operation.
The Red Line train is set to commence full service operation during the AM peak hours, which will take effect from Monday, February 10, 2025.
As announced in a post on LAMATA’s X handle on Sunday, the Red Line will now operate five morning trips and four evening trips daily, totalling nine trips per day.
This is also extended to the initial two morning trips available from Agbado to Oyingbo.
According to LAMATA, the change in schedule provides commuting options of Lagos residents travelling along the Agbado to Oyingbo corridor.
The authority stated that the Red Line guarantees residents with reduced travel time, with a total journey duration of 50 minutes from Agbado- Oyingbo and a reduced waiting time at each station of only two minutes.
It also disclosed the arrival of three new train sets in coming months.
This, according to LAMATA, will further enhance the Red Line’s capacity and service to Lagos residents.
