The leadership of the Senate on Thursday resolved to invite the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Mr. Godwin Emefiele to come forward and explain the dangers the controversial digital currency poses to the Nigerian economy.
The motion to bring Emefiele was moved by Senator Istifanus Gyand.
Emefiele is to appear before the Senate Committee on Banking, ICT and Cybercrime and make its report back to the plenary in two weeks.
The CBN had last week ordered banks and other financial institutions to close accounts associated with crypto currency.
The move has raised dust as many young Nigerians have kicked describing the move as baseless.
