Shamshudeen Mohammed, son of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has alleged detained a lecturer, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed, for uploading dance videos of him online.
This was disclosed in an Instagram post shared on Thursday by human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore.
As captured in a collated video clip attached to the post, Shamshudeen appeared in the first dancing at an event with his wife while second clip showed the excited Bauchi governor’s son dancing following a birthday surprise by his wife.
In what he described as Power Show, Sowore alleged that the governor’s son colluded with the Nigerian Police Force to arrest and detain the lecturer over the videos.
“POWER SHOW: Power drunk Shamshudeen Bala Mohammed, son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, colluded with the Nigeria @nigeriapoliceforce to detain a lecturer, Dr. Abubakar Ahmed who uploaded these dance videos of him.” He wrote.
While sharing the post on his X handle, Sowore identified the lecturer as a recent PhD graduate of Horticulture.
He decried the unlawful arrest of citizens by the publicly funded Nigerian police as he reiterated his call for the removal of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
“The saddest part of all these is that the country Nigeria runs a publicly funded Police force that would agree to arrest and prosecute a Nigerian citizen over this rubbish. #EgbetokunMustGo” Sowore wrote.
