Motorists along the Lekki-Epe Expressway have cried out over the rate of robbery and vandalisation of cars in traffic.
Two latest victims of the criminal act recounted their ordeal in separate videos posted on X on Wednesday.
Both incidents occurred on Tuesday evening.
One of the vicitms who is a nursing mother narrated how her car was vandalised with the rubber holding her windscreen stolen at the Lekki Phase One traffic light by three suspected hoodlums.
“They pulled this thing that is holding down my windscreen. Look at what they did just this evening around 9:00pm.
“I just closed from my office, coming from Abimbola Branch. Three guys attacked my car under that traffic light.” She said.
The lady warned other motorists and residents of Lekki about the presence of armed robbers along the expressway.
“Lekki is not safe anymore. Armed robbers are on the express robbing people. The guys that were at my back, they stole their phone while we were waiting for the traffic light.
“Armed robbers are on the express and they dress very decent. You will think they are responsible people and maybe they want to cross or ask you for something. Please don’t roll down for them. They are thieves.
“You guys should be very aware and very careful. If they see that you are using a big car they want to come and rob you, break your windscreen.” The victim said.
She also recalled how the logo of her was stolen at a party in the same area.
“The last time I went for a party, they took my G-Wagon logo in Lekki too. They also stole something from the back. I’m talking about Lekki Phase One , not even Ajah or Sangotedo.” She added.
The second clip involved a male victim who disclosed being allegedly robbed with his car vandalised by beggars at the Ikate Elegushi axis of the Lekki-Expressway.
He narrated how the beggars had approached his car with one of them ripping of the rubber holding his windscreen.
“I just got robbed in Ikate. All those beggars were at my window talking to me and I didn’t refuse the guys. One of them just ripped off this thing off my car.
“I chased him but couldn’t get him. He ran so fast. I kept chasing him then more guys gathered and I knew they were a lot.” He said.
The visibly agitated victim called out the Federal Government over the presence of the hoodlums.
“What kind of nonesense thing is this? Nigerians you are not safe in your own country. Just look at this. I chased the guy but couldn’t get him.
“Federal Government what kind of mistake are you people doing allowing these guys to be on the street? This is messed up.” He said.
