All is now set for the kickoff of the 2024 edition of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference of the Guild of Corporate Publishers (GOCOP) in Lokoja, capital of Kogi State, the Confluence State of Nigeria.
The two-day event tagged Lokoja’24, is to be chaired by Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Spain, Alhaji Yusuf Yaro Mamman, according to the 2024 Conference Planning Committee chairman, Danlami Nmodu, mni, as announced by the Publicity Secretary of GOCOP, Sir Remmy Nweke.
The AGM is holding at Reverton Hotel, 1/5 Kunama Crescent, GRA Lokoja, Kogi State, starting 9am today, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, while the Conference will start 10 am on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Almost all Publishers and CEOs of Corporate Online outfits in Nigeria are already in the various hotels in Lokoja, ready for the event. The key personalities have been confirmed to be in Lokoja.
According to the Chairman of the Organising Committee, the theme of the 8th annual conference is: “Nigeria: Tackling Insecurity, Power Deficit, and Transitioning to Digital Economy.”
Keynote address for the event will be delivered by ex-governor of Cross Rivers state, Senator Liyel Imoke.
Meanwhile the first day is exclusive to GOCOP Members who will be holding business and capacity building session as well as business launch with GOCOP sponsors and heads of corporate communications of organizations and media advisers in the country.
The main conference which will be held Thursday 3rd of October, will be open to the public.
Confirmed speakers for the event include; the conference chairman, Yusuf Mamman, former Nigerian chief of army Staff (retd), Lt-General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, and the executive vice chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Aminu Maida.
The conference will also feature a panelists session involving Rotimi Ajayi, a professor of Political Science at the Federal University, Lokoja, and Debrah M. Ogazuma, an edutainment communicator and veteran broadcaster.
Meanwhile, sponsors and partners of the AGM include; the National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Delta and Lagos State governments, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). Other sponsors are the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and T-Pumpy Concept Limited.
