Newly sworn-in Ghanaian President, John Mahama, has mistakenly referred to Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, as the President of Ghana.
Mahama made the mistake during first address as new Ghanaian President at the Swearing-in Ceremony in Accra on Tuesday.
As seen in a clip of the live broadcast on X, he wrongly referred to Tinubu as Ghanaian President while acknowledging the dignitaries present at the event.
“… Honorable members of the Parliament, your Excellency Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Chief Justice, Your Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Ghana and Special Guest of Honour for this occasion, Your Excellencies, Presidents, Heads of Government…”Mahama had said.
Recall that Tinubu had arrived at the West African country yesterday for the event.
NPO also reported the arrival of Offa Indigenes at Ghana to witness the event.
Mahama, who returns to office for the second time after emerging winner of last year’s Presidential election, had been vocal about his affiliation with Nigeria
He once revealed that he grew up in Kwara state which explained the presence of Offa indigenes at his inauguration.
