Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has returned back home after fulfilling his bail conditions.
NPO Reported that the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had last week Friday granted Malami, his wife, Asabe Bashir, and their son, Abdulaziz Malami, N200 million bail each in the ongoing N9 billion money laundering trial.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned the trio on a 16-count charge bordering on alleged money laundering.
Delivering her verdict on the bail application, the trial judge, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, granted each defendant N200 million bail with two sureties in like sum.
The judge also directed the defendants to deposit their international passports with the court.
Having fulfilled the bail application, Malami was released after spending over three months in remand.
Video shared on X on Monday showed moment the ex-AGF arroved at his residence.
Some of his supporters had assembled at the residence ahead of his arrival.
Meanwhile, the ex-AGF woll appear before the court again on the 16th of March for the resumption of his trial.
